Cr1t- exits World of Warcraft PvP event after two losses

Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen, the Dota 2 champion from The International 2025 and former Team Falcons player, tried his hand at a different competitive scene this week. He took part in a PvP tournament for World of Warcraft: Forever, where the prize pool was set at $100,000.

A familiar name in a different game

Cr1t-’s participation was shown on his Twitch channel, where viewers could follow his run in the duel format. The Danish player entered the event on a Priest, stepping away from the Dota 2 environment and into a one-on-one test of game knowledge, execution and match-up understanding.

The format left little room for recovery. In a duel tournament, each match matters immediately, and a short losing streak can end the entire campaign before it has time to develop. For a player known to Dota 2 fans for his support play and team achievements, the appearance was notable simply because it placed him in a very different competitive setting.

Two defeats, early elimination

According to the report, Cr1t- lost two duels during the tournament and was eliminated early. The source does not specify the exact opponents or the stage of the event, only that the Danish player failed to advance after those losses.

That makes the result straightforward: his run in the tournament ended before the later rounds, and he exited the competition without a deep finish. The prize pool and duel format meant the event had real stakes, even if the appearance was also of interest to viewers following his stream.

What this means for competitive players

While this result has no direct impact on Dota 2 rankings or MMR, it is still a useful reminder that success in one game does not automatically transfer to another. Even elite esports players can struggle when they move into a different title, especially in a format built around individual performance rather than team coordination.

For Dota players, the story is mainly interesting as an example of how mechanical skill, decision-making and game-specific experience all matter in competitive play. It also shows why one-off tournaments in other genres can be unpredictable, even for a decorated professional like Cr1t-.
