Meepo returns to Dota 2 matchmaking after bug fix
Meepo is back in matchmaking
A new Dota 2 update arrived during the night of October 27, and one of its immediate effects was to bring Meepo back into the matchmaking pool. The hero had been temporarily unavailable, but after the update players could once again pick him in regular games.
According to Team Spirit analyst Denis "sikle" Lerman, the developers fixed another issue tied to the hero. The update was described as a bug fix rather than a broader balance patch, so there is no indication of gameplay changes beyond the correction itself.
What was fixed
The source specifically points to a problem with Meepo’s clones becoming invisible. That kind of bug is more than a visual annoyance in Dota 2, since it can affect clarity in fights and make it harder for opponents to track what is happening on the map. Once a hero like Meepo has a bug that impacts visibility or unit behavior, temporary removal from matchmaking is a common precaution.
The update appears to have focused on resolving that issue and restoring normal access to the hero. No additional hero changes were mentioned in the source, and there is no indication that the patch included wider system adjustments.
Why this matters for ranked players
For ranked players, the practical effect is simple: Meepo is available again, so players who specialize in the hero can return to using him in matchmaking. At the same time, opponents should expect to see him back in drafts after a short absence.
Any hero with multiple units can be especially sensitive to bugs, because even a small error can create confusion in lane or teamfights. In Meepo’s case, invisible clones would obviously raise questions about fairness and readability, which explains why a fast fix and a return to matchmaking matter.
For now, the update seems limited to correcting this specific problem. Players looking for larger gameplay adjustments will need to wait for a more substantial patch, but Meepo mains at least have their hero back for ranked games.
